Polish Change - Essie's Smooth Sailing

First, here's how OPI's DS Temptation held up...it chipped after 2 days, but I'm still in love with it.

I used OPI's base coat, ORLY's SEC N' DRY and then OPI's Drip Dry

Here is the bottle of Essie's Smooth Sailing

After just one coat, it was pretty opaque, and with a second coat, it would be perfect.

Here it is with the second coat. I love it! It's a light corn flower blue with tiny silver glitter pieces floating in it. It was easy to apply and worked well. It also didn't chip!

This is one of my new favorite colors, though it came out a while ago!

How to: Keep your hair healthy when straightening it a lot

Keep your hair healthy when straightening it a lot

I was my hair with ever straight brazilian keratin therapy shampoo and conditioner by organix then use Fekkai's protein rx anti breakage treatment.

When I'm done washing my hair I spray It's a 10 miracle leave in treatment, followed by brazilian keratin therapy anti breakage serum by organix, then spray chi's 44 iron guard on my hair, comb through and dry. I use the Sedu ionic pro ceramic flat iron 1 1/2 inch straightener to straighten my hair. As I straighten it, I spray the chi guard on every layer before I straighten it.

Finally, once it's all straight, I lightly spray organix brazilian keratin therapy shimmering spray on my hair. Spray it far away though because it can get oily if you use too much. I wash my hair every 2 days so to keep my hair fresh I use TRESemme dry shampoo for straight normal hair.

Polish Change - OPI DS Temptation

This is the polish I had on before I switched to DS Temptation. It's the Franken Polish I made, this picture is after it's been on for like 3 days so it lasted pretty well.

And here is OPI's DS Temptation in all of it's glory!

Ok, so first it is so much more glittery in person! This polish is a blueish/purple base with multi colored tiny glitter pieces. This is part of OPI's Designer Series so you'll have to pay a little more than normal for it. I paid $12.50 for it and found it in JC Penney's hair salon which always has a really good selection of OPI surprisingly.

When I put the first coat on I seriously wanted to cry! I thought it was so ugly and sheer...

The second coat I started to feel a little better, still wasn't thrilled though.

And then BOOM it happened! With the third coat it all came together and I was so happy!

What I love about this polish: The color is very unique, I have over 100 bottles of nail polish and this one really sticks out to me. Though the first coat was ugly and make my nails look kinda dirty, after the third coat it was opaque. It was easy to apply, spreading pretty evenly. Also, this polish dried very fast!

What I dislike about this polish: It dries very gritty, you can feel the glitter and texture even after 2 coats of top coat. I'm also not a huge fan that I had to apply 3 coats of this polish because I've found that when you apply more than 2 coats the polish sometimes chips a little easier.

Overall, I'd give this polish a B+, I was a lot more excited about the color in the bottle than when it was on my nails.

Totally Obsessed With and Completely Over It!

I decided to do some of my current favorite products and then one that I'm not so happy with in this video.

Here's the picture of my 3 Totally Obsessed With items:

GogoGirlfriend Box - November Review

This was my first beauty box I received a few days ago from GogoGirlfriend. GogoGirlfriend is similar to Birchbox. Basically, you sign up and receive many samples in a cute little box once a month. I also subscribed to eco-emi but haven't received my first box from them yet but can't wait until I do! I'll post the websites below if anyone is interested in learning more about the subscriptions. I think GogoGirlfriend has put a hold on their memberships until January.

My First Franken Polish

For those of you who don't know what Frankening is, it's basically when you make your own nail polish color. Some people do it from scratch using pigments, glitter, etc. Others just mix existing colors. For my first one I just mixed two existing colors I already had. This was my result:
It kinda reminds me of funfetti cake! I used Essie's Marshmallow and OPI's Rainbow Connection from the Muppets Collection. I was inspired by Deborah Lippmanns Forget You and Candy Shop. I am so in love with all of her colors! They're all very unique. Sorry this picture isn't the best quality and the background is busy, I just took a quick picture of it when I was at my boyfriend's house.
